An extension to the Type Deck and Type Wrap projects, both created in collaboration with Steven Heller and published by Thames & Hudson, Type Journal is a journal conceived specifically for the creation of lettering. The cover features custom drawn compressed lettering that takes on a pattern like quality wrapping from front to back. Type Journal is retailed with minimal packaging using a simple acetate belly band.

Type Journal features lay flat binding, a sewn in fabric bookmark, and fine grade acid free paper that works with a range of media (even for lefties). Spreads are imprinted with slant guides that are helpful for practicing script, brush or blackletter styles as well as spreads with a light dot grid. Throughout the book quotes about typography and lettering from design luminaries are minimally featured along with outlined letterforms from Type Deck intended for coloring or embellishing as desired.
